In a bid to shed light on one of India's darkest chapters, director Vivek Agnihotri is set to release "The Kashmir Files Unreported," a web series that promises to be more heart-wrenching and eye-opening than its predecessor, "The Kashmir Files."

After the commercial success of the film, the director aims to delve deeper into the tragedy that befell the Kashmiri Pandits in the 1990s, uncovering the events that led to their killings and subsequent exodus from the region.

The recently unveiled 2-minute trailer gives a glimpse of what viewers can expect from the series. "The Kashmir Files Unreported" will feature conversations with historians, experts, real-life victims, and their families, with many seen becoming emotional as they recount their harrowing experiences.

Through this approach, the series aims to portray the state of affairs that eventually led to the abrogation of Article 370 and the current repercussions in the region. The genocide of the Kashmiri Pandits remains a painful chapter in Indian history and a tragic reminder of human suffering.

The director and producer of the web series, Vivek Agnihotri, expressed the importance of honestly telling this story, considering it as one of the biggest hidden tragedies of modern times. He acknowledged the polarizing views that emerged after the film's release, with some believing it portrayed only a fraction of the reality while others dismissed it as propaganda.

For Vivek Agnihotri and his wife, co-producer Pallavi Joshi, the overwhelming response to "The Kashmir Files" prompted them to unveil the raw and unfiltered truth behind the tragedy. They were deeply moved by the pain and agony shared by the Kashmiri Pandit community during their research, which served as a motivation to present the complete and unadulterated truth through "The Kashmir Files Unreported."

The 7-part series, produced by IamBuddha Entertainment and Media LLP, will premiere on ZEE5. According to the filmmakers, "The Kashmir Files Unreported" is not just a recounting of historical events but a powerful reminder of the horrors endured by innocent lives. The intention is to raise awareness, promote a temperament of zero tolerance for terrorism, and foster a strong sense of unity and humanity.
